What is VerifyDest?
VerifyDest is a free online tool for verifying payment destinations. We validate IBAN codes from 106 countries and check cryptocurrency wallet addresses across 59 blockchain networks. Our service helps you ensure that the bank account or wallet you're sending money to is legitimate and safe.
How does IBAN validation work?
IBAN validation involves multiple checks: we verify the country code, calculate and validate the check digits using the MOD-97 algorithm, confirm the correct length for each country, and look up the bank information including bank name and BIC/SWIFT code. For registered users, we also provide risk assessment.
What is an IBAN?
IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number. It's a standardized international numbering system developed to identify bank accounts across national borders. An IBAN can contain up to 34 alphanumeric characters and includes a country code, check digits, and the domestic bank account number.
Which countries are supported for IBAN validation?
VerifyDest supports IBAN validation for 106 countries worldwide, including all 39 SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) countries. This covers all of Europe, plus many countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Central America that have adopted the IBAN standard.
How does wallet checking work?
Our wallet checker validates the format of cryptocurrency addresses, auto-detects the blockchain network, and provides risk assessment. We check addresses against known sanctions lists and scam databases. For supported chains, we also provide transaction history and balance information.
Which blockchains are supported?
We support 59 blockchain networks including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, and many more. This includes 30 EVM-compatible chains and 29 non-EVM chains. Our system auto-detects the blockchain based on the address format.
Is VerifyDest free to use?
Yes! We offer a generous free tier that includes 20 IBAN validations and 10 wallet checks per day after registration. You can even try the service without registration with limited daily checks. For higher volumes, we offer affordable paid plans starting at €4.99/month.
What is the risk score?
The risk score is a 0-100 rating we assign to wallet addresses based on multiple factors: sanctions list checks, scam reports, address age, transaction patterns, and more. A lower score indicates lower risk. We recommend extra caution for addresses with scores above 50.
Do you store my IBANs or wallet addresses?
We prioritize your privacy. We never store complete IBANs or wallet addresses. We only keep cryptographic hashes for analytics and rate limiting. Your validation history (if you're logged in) shows only partial, masked data for your reference.
How accurate is the validation?
Our IBAN validation is highly accurate as it follows the official ISO 13616 standard. However, please note that validation confirms the format is correct - it doesn't guarantee the account exists or belongs to a specific person. For wallet addresses, format validation is 100% accurate for supported chains.
Can I use VerifyDest via API?
Yes! API access is available starting from our Basic plan (€4.99/month). The API provides the same validation and risk assessment features as our web interface, allowing you to integrate payment verification directly into your applications.
What is SEPA?
SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is a payment integration initiative of the European Union for simplifying bank transfers denominated in euro. VerifyDest indicates whether an IBAN belongs to a SEPA country, which is useful for determining if instant and low-cost Euro transfers are possible.
